A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive 60–90 minute assessment where our provider gathers information about your mental health history, current symptoms, medications, and personal goals. It is the essential first step in receiving care at Vicvera. If you are experiencing persistent anxiety, depression, mood changes, sleep issues, or any mental health concern, an evaluation is the right place to start — you do not need to be in crisis to seek help.
Your first appointment is a conversation, not a test. Our provider will ask about your symptoms, medical history, family mental health history, and what you hope to achieve through treatment. There are no right or wrong answers. Bring a list of any current medications and any previous mental health records if you have them. Most importantly, come as you are — honesty is the most valuable thing you can bring.
Yes. Vicvera Behavioral Health Services offers secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth appointments via video. This means you can receive psychiatric care from the comfort of your home, office, or anywhere with a stable internet connection. We serve patients across Washington State, Alaska, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Telehealth is equally effective as in-person care for most mental health conditions.
Treatment & Services
We specialize in adult mental health for individuals aged 18 and older. Our core services include anxiety management, depression management, initial psychiatric evaluations, and medication management. We also have experience with mood disorders, insomnia, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other behavioral health conditions. Every treatment plan is individualized — built around your specific needs and goals.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps patients identify and reframe negative thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, and other conditions. It is one of the most well-researched and effective forms of psychotherapy available. At Vicvera, our provider incorporates CBT principles alongside medication management to create a comprehensive, personalized treatment plan.
Medication management is a collaborative, ongoing process. Our provider will evaluate whether medication is appropriate for your situation, recommend the most suitable option, and monitor your progress at regular follow-up appointments — typically every 1–3 months. You are always involved in the decision-making. If you experience side effects or feel a medication is not working, we adjust your plan. We never take a one-size-fits-all approach.
Treatment duration varies widely depending on the individual, the condition, and the goals. Some patients benefit from short-term support over a few months; others benefit from longer-term ongoing care. After your initial evaluation, your provider will give you a realistic picture of what to expect and will regularly reassess your progress with you. The goal is always lasting well-being, not indefinite dependency.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Yes. All information shared during your appointments is strictly confidential and protected under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Your records will never be shared without your written consent, with very limited legal exceptions — such as if there is an imminent risk of harm to yourself or others. We take your privacy seriously and maintain a safe, non-judgmental space for every patient.
Billing & Insurance
Insurance coverage and pricing depend on the specific services rendered and what your plan covers. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to verify your mental health benefits before your first appointment. Our team is happy to assist you with any questions about billing. We believe financial barriers should never stand between a person and the care they need.
We ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows us to offer that time to another patient who may be waiting for care. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee. If you are running late or need to reschedule urgently, please contact us as soon as possible — we will always do our best to accommodate you.
